Hey, check out September ’20 Favorite Things from Anna!
COPPER CHEF PANS
You have probably heard me mention that I like Copper Chef Pans. Here is my collection, minus another sheet pan. I thoroughly enjoy cooking with these pans because (1) they are nonstick, without the coating peeling up, (2) they are oven/dishwasher safe, (3) they are a beautiful copper color. They are super functional, as well, so I guess that would be #4. I have gradually replaced my previous nonstick cookware set, except for one medium saucepan, which will be replaced as soon as I notice brown specks in my grits.
AGRUS DANISH DOUGH WHISK
I first saw this dough whisk on a Facebook video and thought it was just such a unique kitchen tool. The video highlighted how easy it was to stir up bread dough, so I figured it would be great for pie dough and just about anything else, actually. Sometimes a spoon just doesn’t get it. Hello Amazon Prime! Placed my order and it arrived as promised. It’s a dream. Yes I get excited about all of my kitchen tools, especially those that multi-task.
BALL PLASTIC JAR LIDS
Do you do any canning? I do a little, and have also enjoyed home-canned foods from friends and family. One thing I do not enjoy is the lid/ring situation after you open a jar and need to put it in the fridge for future use. It’s just too much trouble to unscrew the ring, pop up the lid, get your food out, put the lid back on, and then screw the ring back on. Right? I know a lot of people just forget about the ring and just use the lid, but that gets messy and it’s not very shelf-safe. So I found these Ball plastic jar lids at Wal-Mart and was so excited to use them. I have white and gray–gray is my favorite–and they come in regular and large mouth sizes. So cool. So smart. Having a “ball” with these.
TAYLOR DIGITAL FOOD SCALE
How many of you have the little analog white plastic scale with the little white tray? I have had mine forever. Back when I would buy ground beef in 5 lb. packs, I would separate it into 1 lb. portions and freeze them. This is a great way to have enough ground beef on hand for recipes that call for a pound or two. But trying to measure out a pound of raw burger into that little white tray was not easy and you could never tell whether you were lining up the right weight on the scale. I finally bought a digital food scale, and it is so fun to use. First, it’s bamboo and glass, so it’s gorgeous, and then it’s easier to clean and much more accurate. Also, it has more space for the food you are weighing. SCORE!
