I am a huge fan of one dish meals and the Sheet Pan Breakfast Bake is a great option for the first–or the last–meal of the day. Actually, you could serve this for any meal. The clean-up is so easy, especially if you use parchment paper to line your pan. I have made this twice and tried it with and without the parchment.
One pan meals are the current hot trend, I think, in meal prep so you have probably seen a few of these recipes on the internet. I kept thinking that I needed to try one, so breakfast seemed like an easy first venture. I learned a few things while preparing this, too:
- Paying attention to how you arrange your foods is important–some arrangements could be unappetizing. LOL!
- When making one dish meals for the first time, try to stay as close to the recipe suggestions as possible. The first time I made this recipe, I was unable to find the Italian-style Chicken Sausage and substituted the regular Italian-style, which worked great. When I made this last night, I went with precooked Turkey Sausage links. I won’t do that again because I felt like it was a little overcooked.
- Frozen Steak Fries are a good substitute for the seasoned potato wedges that I couldn’t find at two different stores. I just added Mediterranean seasoning. Tater Tots are also a good replacement.
I think finding recipe ingredients, that are not just your normal everyday foods, is a challenge right now because of COVID19. I had the same issue when I was looking for Acini de Pepe for Frogeye Salad. Stay tuned for that recipe, by the way. Julie will be sharing that with us on a future post. Yum.
