I just wanted to share a great quick breakfast item that you can fix at home–Instant Fruit & Cream Oatmeal. I prefer the fruit & cream version of instant oatmeal, although I do like the Maple Brown Sugar option, as well. You decide for yourself which version you like best, and which one works better for your particular needs–like less sugar if you have health concerns.
If you’re looking to save some time on those busy school mornings or you are running late to work and worried about catching the rush-hour traffic, this could be your go-to timesaver friend. Here’s another breakfast recipe that you can prep the night before and maybe you will have time to actually run a comb through your hair before you head out the door!
One of the great things about this homemade Fruit & Cream Oatmeal recipe is that it makes a much better sized serving! Really, those 2 or 3 tablespoons of oatmeal that you get out of the store-bought packets just is not enough for me. Everyone says oatmeal really “sticks to your ribs” and you won’t be hungry until lunch. Yeah, right! Not this girl. But the serving size for this recipe fills me up.
I started out just making strawberry & cream and blueberries & cream, but then I found a couple of other partial containers of freeze-dried fruit that I needed to use up and just kept going until they were empty–bananas & cream, and pineapple coconut macaroon & cream. Yay me!
If you have dehydrated or freeze-dried fruit that you need to use–and there is a difference–this is a perfect way to get more bang for your buck and not have to throw out unused food.
Here’s another great tip: use these cute snack bags to portion out your instant oatmeal. They are the perfect size. My daughter introduced these to me and I have found multiple uses for these great kitchen items.
This recipe came from Pinterest and I originally posted it to our old blog–it was a popular post.
